Alberta has released the details of the latest draw held by the Canadian province.
On June 29, 2021, Alberta invited – through the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program [AINP] – a total of 148 Canada immigration hopefuls to apply for a provincial nomination by Alberta for Canada PR.
The previous AINP draw was held on June 16, 2021.

The province of Alberta is among the 9 provinces and 2 territories in Canada that are a part of the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP].
Quebec, with its own immigration programs, is not a part of Canadian PNP. The territory of Nunavut, on the other hand, has no immigration program.
| On a regular basis, Alberta PNP reviews the available candidates in the federal Express Entry pool.
Express Entry system is an online application management system of the Canadian government managed through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC]. Following a selection in AINP draws, an IRCC Express Entry candidate is then invited – through a Notification of Interest [NOI] letter – to submit their completed application to Alberta PNP. |
An PNP nomination – through any of the Express Entry linked PNP streams – is a guarantee of the nominated IRCC Express Entry candidate being invited by IRCC to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
Not all Express Entry candidates meeting the requirement for the Alberta Express Entry Stream will receive an NOI from the AINP or be asked to apply.
Factors affecting AINP invitations
NOI letters by the AINP and requests to apply are affected by certain factors.
These are –
- The number of nomination spaces available,
- The type [sector/occupation] of submissions in the processing queue of the AINP, and
- The volume of candidates meeting the eligibility requirements.
| An IRCC Express Entry candidate might receive an NOI from the AINP if they –
[1] have an active IRCC Express Entry profile, [2] have expressed an interest in immigrating permanently to Alberta, [3] have a minimum CRS score of 300, and [4] are working in an occupation supporting the economic diversification and development of the province. |
The latest Alberta PNP draw is the 13th AINP draw to be held in 2021. With the latest provincial draw by Alberta, the province has invited a total of 2,432 so far this year.
