About the BC PNP
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP), aims to attract foreign nationals who are willing to become permanent residents of Canada.
BC PNP immigration streams
The two main immigration streams of BC PNP mentioned below were managed under B.C.’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).
Skills immigration in British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program
Under the skills immigration category, British Columbia has issued invitations for the following sub-categories:
- Skilled Worker
- International Graduate
- Entry Level and Semi-Skilled
Express Entry British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program
In Express Entry BC, the candidates were invited under the following subcategories:
- Skilled Worker
- International Graduate
- Entry Level and Semi-Skilled
To get eligible under these streams, you have to register an account, which will allot score based on the factors such as education, work experience, and language skills.
Candidates with the highest scores from each sub-category are invited to apply for provincial nomination to apply for permanent residency when British Columbia conducts one of its regular draws.
After receiving an invitation, the candidates will have 30 calendar days to submit a complete application through the BC PNP online system.
The candidate will be notified about the province’s decision within approximately two to three months to notify the decision. If the nomination is successful, you will be eligible to apply to Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent resident status under the Provincial Nominee Class.
As a provincial nominee, an additional 600 points will be added to the existing CRS score, which will be high enough to receive the Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the federal Express Entry draw.
