The federal government of Canada has held another round of invitations under the Express Entry system managed through the department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
On November 24, 2021, another 613 Canada immigration hopefuls were invited to apply for permanent residence through the Express Entry system. All the candidates invited in the latest IRCC draw were those with a provincial nomination.
The previous Express Entry draw was held on November 10, 2021.

The tie-breaking rule is applied wherein multiple profiles have the required minimum ranking score. If more than one candidate has the lowest CRS required, the order of invitation will be based on the date and time that they submitted their profile.
Simply put, profiles created earlier gain precedence over those submitted to the pool at a later date.
The Express Entry system is used for handling permanent residence applications from candidates eligible for any of the three main economic immigration programs of Canada. Express Entry Canada immigration programs are –
[1] Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP),
[2] Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and
[2] Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Moreover, the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) also has certain immigration pathways or streams linked with IRCC Express Entry.
No FSWP candidates have been invited so far in 2021. The recommended course of action for such candidates is that of securing a PNP nomination, taking the provincial route to Canada PR.

A PNP nomination – through any of the Express Entry linked streams – guarantees an ITA by IRCC in a subsequent federal draw.
Being nominated by any of the provincial or territorial governments is worth 600 CRS points for an Express Entry candidate. |
With the 600 points boost, as per the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), the profile of that candidate finds its way towards the top of the IRCC pool of candidates. It is only the highest-ranked that are invited by IRCC to apply for Canadian permanent residence through Express Entry.
As of November 22, 2021, there were 577 profiles in the Express Entry pool with their ranking score in the CRS 601-1,200 range. The total number of profiles, on the other hand, were 190,102.
As Quebec is not a part of Candian PNP, those intending to settle within Quebec after getting their Canada PR visa will have to explore Quebec immigration programs instead.
With the latest round of invitations, a total of 112,653 invitations have been issued by IRCC so far in 2021.
The total number of Canada PR visas to be granted through the Express Entry in 2021 stands at 108,500. |
