Abstract: The Atlantic Immigrant Program will start accepting applications for permanent residence of foreign national graduates and skilled migrant workers from March 6, 2022.

The AIP or Atlantic Immigration Program is set to begin on March 6, 2022. The program will create a pool of candidates consisting of foreign national graduates and skilled migrants for permanent residency.
The current program has replaced the 'Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program'. Candidates from the previous program who had received an endorsement certificate from the Atlantic Provinces can apply for PR in the new program. The pilot program was closed on December 31, 2021.

The three programs of AIP
The AIP has been further divided into three programs for different occupations. Here’s the table for better understanding.

Atlantic High-Skilled Program | Skilled workers with professional, management, or technical experience |
Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program | High school education or job specific training |
Atlantic International Graduate Program | Degree, diploma, or any other credential from a publicly-funded institution in an Atlantic province |
The Atlantic International Graduate Program does not require work experience. It requires a job offer that has a period of at least one year.

Eligibility for AIP
The applicants need to fulfill the following requirements to apply for the Atlantic Immigration Program.
- Work experience. It is not applicable for the international graduates who have a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Atlantic Canada.
- Meet the educational eligibility or even have higher qualifications
- Have language proficiency
- Sufficient funds to live in Canada
