From 1st November, 2014, CPA Australia will recognise the following programs or tests as meeting the English proficiency requirements of the general skills assessment:
- IELTS Academic
- PTE Academic
- Skilled Migration Internship Program Accounting (SMIPA)
- TOEFL iBT
Minimum scores for each of the components will need to be achieved in the IELTS Academic, PTE Academic and TOEFL iBT tests:

| TOEFL iBT | 24 | 24 | 27 | 23 |
| PTE Academic | 65 | 65 | 65 | 65 |
Earlier CPA used to accept only IELTS Academic as it’s English language requirements. However from 1-Nov-2014 it will accept the above mentioned tests as well. This is applicable for 189, 190 and 489 sub class visas.
