As per a report – Monitoring Sentiment for Domestic and Intra-European Travel [Wave 5] – published on February 21, 2021, “54% of respondents consider travelling in the coming 6 months”.
This is the second consecutive period that the sentiment of the Europeans for domestic as well as intra-European trips is recovering.
The Report is by the European Travel Commission [ETC]. The project is co-funded by the European Union.
Featuring data collected in January 2021, the Report assesses the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the travel plans of Europeans.
The methodology for the findings was a survey conducted through online market research of survey participants that were consumers with a minimum of 2 overnight trips in 2019.

For the survey for Monitoring Sentiment for Domestic and Intra-European Travel [Wave 5], 53% respondents were male and 47% were female. |
Spain came out to be the top destination of choice among the respondents surveyed.

Among Europeans with short-term travel plans, a wide majority – that is, 69% – put down the “strict Health and Safety protocols in destinations” as being critical for having “a safer and more relaxed holiday experience”.
