The federal government of Canada has held, within a day of the previous draw, another round of invitations through the Express Entry system.
On June 10, 2021, as many as 6,000 candidates – with previous Canadian experience – were invited by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC].
Those invited can now proceed to applying to IRCC for Canada PR. Applying for permanent residence in Canada through the Express Entry system is by invitation only.
The previous federal draw was held on June 9, 2021.

With a tie-breaking rule applied by IRCC in the Express Entry, Canada immigration hopefuls that received invitations in the latest federal IRCC draw were those – [1] eligible for the CEC, [2] with a minimum CRS of 368, and [3] that had created their profile before the tie-break applied.

Here, towards the calculation of the work experience acquired in Canada, the candidate must have a minimum of 1 year’s skilled work experience in Canada in the previous 3 years before applying to IRCC Express Entry.
The work experience can be either –
- full-time at 1 job only,
- full-time at more than 1 jobs, or
- cumulative work experience that includes an equal amount in part-time work.
The total work experience in Canada must be for 1,560 hours. For anyone working full-time at 1 job that would mean 30 hours’ work in a week for 12 months.
Do keep in mind that any work above 30 hours a week will not be considered by IRCC.
As per IRCC, an individual will be ineligible for the CEC if their work experience in Canada had been got –
- while working without due authorization for the same, or
- without a valid temporary resident status in Canada.
Self-employment will not be considered for meeting the work experience requirements for the CEC.
