IELTS 2023: Eligibility, Fees, Dates, Score Validity
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an English language proficiency exam that more than 3,000 universities globally accept from aspiring immigrants or students wanting to pursue higher education, mostly in English-speaking countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, and the USA.

Why two types of IELTS tests?

The registration process for IELTS
Candidates can register online for IELTS or visit the IDP office closest to them to register offline. IELTS test-takers can opt for a test center closest to them.
IELTS Online Registration
Registration for IELTS is convenient and easy. There are three steps to register for the IELTS exam. Candidates must visit the official website of IDP IELTS to register for IELTS and then follow the steps as mentioned:
- Generate an account
- Identify a suitable date slot according to the availability at the IELTS test centers closest to you.
- Conclude the registration by making a payment online.
IELTS Offline Registration
Here, candidates must download the IELTS exam registration form from the IDP portal. They need to manually choose the test date and complete the other IELTS requirements enquired in the form. After that, the candidate must pay by demand draft drawn in favor of "IDP EDUCATION INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED, payable in New Delhi, or by cash by visiting the nearest ICICI bank with a payment receipt. The candidate has to provide address details on the registration form that Blue Dart Courier serves.

IELTS Exam Dates
International students can take IELTS Academic exam on 48 different days per year, which can be booked as per availability. The candidate can take the IELTS exam dates on 48 days in 2023 for the Academic section and 24 days for the IELTS General Training section. It is better if candidates book for the exam a minimum of three to four months before the application cut-off date. They can reserve IELTS exam dates through IELTS, IDP, or British Council portals.

Validity of IELTS scores
