The Global Skills Strategy (GSS) may allow you to aid in getting to work in Canada much quicker by offering processing times of two-week on authorized work permit applications.
To qualify, you need to apply online from outside of Canada in one of the given situations:
Situation one
Your employer holds from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) a positive Global Talent Stream (GTS) (Category A or B) Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) for your job.
If you are in such a situation, you need to indicate to us you are applying to utilize a GTS LMIA once you finish your eligibility check. If not, we will not acknowledge you as a GSS applicant.
Situation two
You should:
- Have a job offer from an employer who is excused from the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) process
- Have a job that is skill level A (professional) or skill type 0 (managerial, executive) or
- Are applying for a work permit that is employer-specific
