Maternity/Paternity Pay
Maternity leave is granted to new mothers who can take leaves after childbirth. Mothers can take maternity leaves of 52 weeks. Mothers are paid at a rate of 90 percent of their basic salary for the first six weeks. Paternity leaves can be taken for one or two weeks. You can avail of these leaves after the child birth.
Shared parental leave
Shared parental leaves give choice to both parents to take care of their child. The leaves can be taken in the following cases:
- After the childbirth
- Adopting a child
- Child born through surrogacy
Each parent gets 50 weeks of shared parental leave and 37 weeks of shared parental pay.
Pension schemes
A workplace pension is the amount saved for retirement. Employers make arrangements for this pension. A percent of the employee’s pay is deducted and added to the pension scheme. This scheme will also provide tax benefits.

Holiday Pay
Workers who work for 5 days a week are entitled to get 28 days paid leaves per year. People who work for irregular hours get paid according to their time off.

Healthcare is free in the UK through NHS but people who want to go to private healthcare providers can take up private health insurance. This insurance will pay some or all the medical expenses for private treatment.
Income Protection
Income protection insurance will pay regular income if you are unable to work due to illness, injury, accident, or any other reason. You will get payment till the time you get back to your work or you retire. You will be able to claim half to two-thirds of your salary before tax from your job.
Tax-free Childcare vouchers
You will be eligible to get £500 every 3 months for each child who needs child care. If a child is disabled, you will get £1,000 every 3 months. If you want to be benefited from the Tax-Free Childcare Scheme, you and your partner must be working and must not receive any support from Universal Credit or Tax Credit.
