Indian citizens travelling to the UK through different European carriers like Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, and any more have to submit Transit Schengen visa. These airlines have to be transited at Munich, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Paris. Now the Indians are banned to take the flights from India if the travelers do not carry their Transit Schengen visa.
The rule has been made by the European authorities to punish the authorities in the UK. Now the non-EU citizens have to carry the Transit Schengen visa to migrate to the UK through the transit flights.
As Switzerland is not the part of this block, so it is exempted from the decision. Citizens of India will also be allowed to pass through the Gulf and the Swiss territories, and in such cases, Transit Schengen Visa is not required.
The citizens of India can also use the flights of Air India, British Airways, Vistara, and Virgin Atlantic as an alternative. This situation has led to another problem that whether the Indian citizens will get a refund or not. Some EU airlines have made a request to the international governments to raise the issue with the European Union.
The holders of the Transit Schengen visa will have the permission to transit from any country whose borders does not touch the Schengen area. The regular Schengen visa is granted for the purpose of tourism, and immigrants have the option to stay in any Schengen country for up to 90 days.
