New Brunswick started a new program to retain international students after graduation
A new program to retain international students has been introduced by New Brunswick. The name of the program is Study and Succeed in New Brunswick. The duration of the program is 3 years and international graduates will have the opportunity to access support and connection to apply for skilled occupations in the province.

Opportunities NB and The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency are funding the program with the help of the Regional Economic Growth through Innovation (REGI) program. Each agency will provide funds of $500,000.
This step was taken by New Brunswick to retain more international graduates because of the Conference Board of Canada report last year. As per the report, the provinces called Ottawa to increase the slots for the number of international students so that provinces can invite through their Provincial Nominee Program.

The Provincial Nominee Program is one of the common ways which helps international students to apply for a Canada PR visa. If the PNP slots will be increased, it will help in the retention of international students.
Settlement services offered by different Canadian provinces
The Conference Board of Canada stated about the improvement in the settlement services provided by each province. This will help them to retain international students to get permanent residence in Canada. The board asked the provinces to retain international students through the post-secondary institution and provincially funded settlement services.
