Eligibility requirements
- Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from a university in Germany or an equivalent overseas degree. (This clause has been modified after changes to German immigration laws in 2020).
- Possess a minimum of 1 year experience in your field of study.
- Be able to supply adequate proof of funds covering your stay during the time period that you would be in Germany.
- Have insurance (travel or medical) that covers your stay in Germany, or at least covers you till the time that you get your Work Permit if you succeed in getting a job.
When a person gets employment in Germany on a Job seeker visa, they are required to apply for an employment residence permit. This can be done in 2 ways:

- Apply for Employment Residence Permit

An employment offer of 44,800 euros per annum or at least 34,944 euros is required to obtain an EU Blue Card.
On the EU Blue Card, you can apply for a permanent residence permit in 33 months. You can get the same in 21 months if you can prove your German language skills.

The new Germany Job Seeker Visa enables skilled professionals to visit the country for six months and search for a job.
To apply for the German job seeker visa, you must meet the following eligibility criterion:
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a university that meets German university standards.
- Have 5 years of experience in a field relevant to your study.
- Have travel and health insurance during your stay in Germany.
- Have proof of sufficient funds to cover your 6-month stay.
- Have proof of your status in India, like a birth certificate or marriage certificate.
