OET takes serious responsibility for candidates and recognized authorities to identify, examine, and take action on instances of suspected misconduct. Despite reported suspected test day cheating, all OET test responses are usually analyzed statistically and qualitatively to detect strange response examples and lopsided score summaries. Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment, CBLA, the owner of OET, has the right to suppress results while investigating malpractices. CBLA may disclose the details of any inquiry, including the candidate’s personal information, with appropriate monitoring authorities and law enforcement authorities. You can look up our policy on misconduct in the OET Test Regulations and Notice to candidates.
