Generally, a holder of Chinese Z visa will be required to apply – within 30 days of entering China – for a residence permit with the local public security authorities.
With this permit, you will have the legal right to live and work in China, as well as to enter and exit the country at your leisure. At least until your one-year residence visa expires, at which point you’ll need to renew it if you want to keep working in China.
