Removal of travel restrictions in UK
The Easter holidays are around the corner, and the country expects a surge of visitors. To make entering the UK more effortless, the government has formulated new rules. The rules are listed below:
- No need to fill out the PLF or Passenger Locator Form
- No requirement for a negative COVID report
- Complete immunization process is not required
- No test before leaving the country

Grant Shapps, the Transport Secretary of the UK, says that “the removal of the restrictions on traveling to the UK is a testimony of the efficiency in vaccinating its citizens. Almost 86% of the British population have received the second dose of vaccine.”
Around 67% of the population has taken the third dose or the booster shot.
He also added that he looks forward to global traveling going back to normalcy and the UK doing its part. The travel guidelines should not be practiced for more time than necessary.
Recent statistics for the pandemic
The WHO or World Health Organization reported 294,904 people contracting the pandemic virus in the past seven days. Around 300 people have died because of COVID in the past week.
Despite the numbers, the authorities of the UK have decided to lift travel restrictions. They have started to consider the virus to be endemic in nature, found in the countries of Europe.
