PARENT VISA SUBCLASS 103
The parent visa subclass 103 grants the parents of Australian permanent visa holders, Australian citizens, to settle permanently in Australia. This is a permanent visa type and lets the applicant stay, work and study, without any restriction to travel to their home country for the first years. The applicant can even sponsor their close relatives and family members and let them come to Australia.
A condition for applying for this visa is if the applicant has used this visa before or the applicant must not hold a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) (subclass 870) visa.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Below are a few eligibility criteria that one must fulfil in order to apply for the Parent visa subclass 103:
- Apply as a retiree: If the applicant is applying as a retiree, they must not undergo a balance of family test, etc. But to establish yourself as a retiree by fulfilling the following two conditions:
- The applicant has previously held an Investor Retirement (subclass 405) visa or Retirement (subclass 410) visa.
- The applicant must not hold another substantive visa within a specific time frame.
- Sponsor: the applicant must have an eligible sponsor. Mostly, the sponsor is the child of the applicant. If the applicant’s child is below 18 years of age, they can be sponsored by an eligible relative or a community organization.
- Balance of family test: The applicant must undergo the balance of family test.
- Assurance of Support: You must have the assurance of support in Australia and rely on something other than the Australian government’s assistance. This condition is valid only if you are not applying for a visa as a retiree.
- Health Requirement: The applicant must meet the Australian health requirement before applying for the visa.
- Character requirement: The visa subclass 103 applicant must meet the character requirement of the country.
- Debt to the Australian Government: One should not owe any money to the Australian government, and in case they have any, it must be paid back before the application.
- No previous visa cancellation: The applicant must not have any history of visa cancellation or visa refusal.
- Australian Values: Each applicant must have signed the Australian values statement.
- Health Insurance: You must have health insurance covering necessary treatment, including transport until you obtain the parent visa.
