Heidelberg University, known as the Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg, Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg in German, is a university that is located in Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. There may be varying requirements for a few specific programs, but at the university, general admission requirements are:

• Certification: Official Educational Transcripts; Certificates of Undergraduate Degree

• Bank statements or tax returns to demonstrate the capability to spend €725 per month
• Proof of health insurance.

Students not fluent in German can take up language preparatory courses at the university. The university houses an International Summer School where four-week German courses are offered at various levels.

At Heidelberg University, for pursuing any program, it is a must for foreign students to apply to get a German student visa. Documents that need to be submitted along with the visa application are as follows:

• Two latest passport-size photographs
• The university’s acceptance letter

As of now, Heidelberg University does not grant any scholarships or financial assistance to students. Foreign students need to take care of their own cost of living, but they are allowed to apply for scholarships that the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and other organizations in Germany offer. Some of the scholarship programs available in Germany are as follows. 

• DeutschlandStipendum: They are granted to foreign students who excel. The amount of these is $330 per month
• German Chancellor Fellowship: They (numbering 50) are granted to students from Brazil, China, India, Russia, and the USA, worth €2,170-€2,770. 
• KAAD Scholarship: They are granted to foreign students hailing from Africa, Asia, and Latin America, who are pursuing PG studies 

In addition to these, foreign students are asked to seek scholarships.
