The Johns Hopkins University, known also as Johns Hopkins, or Hopkins, or JHU, is a private university located in Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 1876, Johns Hopkins was named after an American entrepreneur Johns Hopkins, who donated $7 million to establish it.

ACCOMMODATION AT JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY 

JHU is home to nine undergraduate residence halls and apartments. The university does not offer accommodation to graduate students. Graduate students of JHU have to make independent accommodation plans for themselves before they arrive on campus. The Transitional Graduate Housing Program lets graduate students reside on campus between June and the end of July but its availability is very limited.

ON-CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION 
  • Most rooms include beds, window blinds, waste bin, wardrobe, drawers, dresser, desk and chair, and a reading table and lamp.
  • Though most floors are for a single gender, there are living options for both sexes too.

JHU offers financial assistance in fellowships, grants, scholarships and other ways. About 54% of newcomers of JHUs get some kind of need-based scholarship. Students receive an average amount of $48,000 as scholarship

Nearly 88% of students belonging to households earning incomes of less than $200,000 get grants from JHU.
