ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY CRITERIA
EDUCATIONAL ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants need to have a bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent from a recognized institution.

A minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 is essential to qualify for the program.
ELIGIBILITY FOR INDIAN STUDENTS:
- Students need to have completed an undergraduate degree in a relevant field with first-class from a top-ranked Indian university.

- Students with a first-class master’s degree in a related field from a recognized institution.
Apart from the minimum eligibility criteria, foreign students who hail from countries where English is not the native language must prove their proficiency in the English language by taking IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to gain admission to this program.

REQUIRED LIST OF DOCUMENTS
The documents that need to be submitted are the following:
- Résumé/CV: A brief of academic achievements in addition to awards, publications, and related work experience.
- Two Letters of Recommendation (LORS): These should include information about the applicant, how they are connected with the person who is recommending them, their qualifications, and their specialized skills.
- Statement of Purpose: It should explain your qualifications and how you will use them in the academic program.
- Statement of Intent: The objective of pursuing this program, with an explanation of prior experience.
- Academic Transcripts: Applicants must provide copies of all their educational accomplishments from institutions outside the US in English translations.
- ELP Scores: Students need to submit their proficiency scores in the English language in tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, or others.

Students need to complete and submit the certification of Finances Form which will allow them to get I-20 that is essential to apply for an F-1 visa.
WORK STUDY
- Foreign students are not allowed to work on-campus or off-campus as the Federal Work-Study regulations don’t allow it. But they can work through the Institutional Student Employment (Non-Work Study) program of the school. Foreign students can work for only up to 20 hours a week during semester or 40 hours during vacations. Students need to register for job listings through the website, named ‘handshake’, at www.umb.joinhandshake.com using their email username of the University of Massachusetts Boston. When looking out for job opportunities, foreign students should indicate by using the filter option on the ‘on-campus non-work study’ icon.
- Students need to apply for a Social Security Number once they get an employment offer at the Student Employment Services office on the Campus Center’s 4th Floor. Foreign students who have registered for a minimum of nine credits per semester are eligible to apply with their Graduate School department for an assistantship where they could get benefits such as a stipend, tuition credit fee waiver by way of incentive or payment. The number of graduate assistantships is, however, restricted upon the budget.
