If you are planning to visit Malta on a tourist visa, then you must know the visa requirements. Residents of EU/EEA nations do not require a visa to travel to Malta. They must register with the local authorities if their stay extends for more than 90 days.
If you are not an EU/EEA resident, you will need a short-term visa to visit Malta which is valid for 90 days. This short-term visa is also known as the Schengen visa. - Proof of having enough finances to support your travel and stay in the country

- An approved and signed letter from a local town hall or any other competent government.
WHEN TO APPLY:
The visa application must be submitted three months before your planned trip. It is advisable not to apply just 15 days prior to your planned trip.
PROCESSING TIME:
Your application will be reviewed with 7-15 days; however, it can extend up to 30 days in certain cases or even 60 days.
