POST-GRADUATION WORK PERMIT (PGWP)
A PGWP program is for international students who graduated from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI). These permits provide freedom to foreign workers to work for any Canadian employer.
PGWP doesn’t need Labour Market Impact Assessment, and it enables graduates to gain work experience in Canada. Foreign nationals become eligible for a Canadian permanent residency after gaining good work experience there.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- 18 years old or more.
- Done a course in Canada for at least eight months.
- The program must have been completed at DLI.
- Apply within 90 days of graduation.
- Hold a valid study permit
REQUIREMENTS
- Age limit: The applicant must be of 18 years of age or more.
- Completed eight months of a course: The applicant must have completed at least eight months in a full-time program in Canada.
- Course from a PGWP-eligible school program: One must have completed the program from a school eligible for the PGWP program or eligible from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI).
- Apply within 90 days of graduation: One must apply for the PGWP program within ninety days of the completion of the program by the candidate.
- Valid study permit: The candidate must possess a valid study permit while the application is being made.
